James Bay Winter Road Partial Opening Notice:
Effective January 14, 2018 at 6:00 pm the James Bay Winter Road will be opened to light vehicle traffic to a maximum Gross Vehicle Weight of 7,500 kilograms from Moosonee to Kashechewan.
We anticipate that the remaining section from Kashechewan to Attawapiskat will be opened to light traffic on/or about January 20th.
Please drive with caution, as there is still heavy equipment working on the road. (water trucks and graders). There are also flooding activities ongoing at various water crossings.
Please be aware and use caution when approaching heavy equipment and flooding crews.

The James Bay Winter Road is operated and managed by First Logistics, a division of Kimesskanemenow LP, a limited partnership between the four First Nations of Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, Moose Cree and Kashechewan. The word kimesskanemenow is a Cree word which means ‘our road’.
